#AirbrushPerfectLegs VoxBox!

Well, it's that time again! VoxBox review!

This time around, I was sent the #AirbrushPerfectLegs VoxBox. I've never done anything like this before, but I was really excited to try it!

As you all know, I received my product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
First, I want to point out that it says "water resistant" on the front, and then says in the directions on the back that it comes off with soap and water. No biggie, I just find it kind of funny.
I was kind of shocked when I opened my Voxbox and received a "medium" shade. I was nervous it would be too dark, but apparently I've gotten quite the summer tan.

OKAY, so here's the real review:

This is my leg before I applied the Airbrush Legs. Not the best lighting, but its super hard to take a picture of your legs while you're standing up without casting a shadow. So this is what you get. It's consistency that matters, right? As you can (kinda) see, I have some bruising/marks towards the middle of my leg. No idea how I got them. #shortpeopleprobs. You can also see how tan I am. :)

And here's after! Now, I always want to be truthful as to how much I liked a product, and I was not a huge fan of this one. As you can see in the picture, all it really did was make me more orange looking. I would say that I'd be okay with it if I just had a different shade in the product, but it didn't even cover up my leg marks. I also assumed that this product would give me more of an "airbrushed" look, and smooth everything out, but it also isn't do that. Maybe it would have if I use more product, but as you can see from the second picture, it says to use a quarter sized amount. I used about three quarters to cover my whole leg, and it still didn't cover anything.

Hey, don't take my word for it, go try it yourself! Sally Hansen is still an awesome brand, this product just didn't really work for me. Let me know how it goes!

Until next time!

Jergens and Indy's first snow!

Oh my gosh guys, it's snowing and so cold outside. I was able to capture my Indiana's first snow this morning! :)
Since it's been so cold outside, I've been so thankful that Influenster sent me Jergen's Ultra Healing Lotion in my #ModaVoxBox. My skin is so dry and sensitive and Jergen's as been the best to keep me from getting all itchy! Hydrating helps a lot too. I've been staying hydrated with my Resource Natural Spring Water. Love it!

Influenster is so good to me, and I want you guys to experience the same! Let me know if you want information on how to join this amazing program!

As always, we received these products totally free for testing purposes from Influenster!

And MAKE SURE you check out my girl Audrey's blog: sondressed.blogspot.com

#VSSports Bra!

Guys, it's finally here. My #VSSports Bra (and yoga pants) finally came in!

SO, I'm in not about uploading pictures of myself in my sports bra unless someone actually takes a picture of me while I'm working out, but lemme tell ya, this bra looks good on.
And I'm not just talking about me! It actually supports a girl! Plus it's super comfy and makes a fitness girl feel super confident, not only that she can any workout she wants to and not have to worry about cleavage, etc, BUT that she looks good while doing it!

Now, these yoga pants, they are something' else. They don't fit me like other yoga pants. They don't hug me in weird places or stick to me when I get all sweaty.
I CAN BREATHE.
And they're actually adjustable and come with a cell phone pocket in the back!

This particular fit is called the Incredible, but I loved it so much that I went back to Victoria's Secret and bought the Knockout too! My old sports bras are officially only for sleeping and lounging in. This baby is The One!

And just for the record, my local store is amazing. I was fitted for the Knockout and the ladies working with me were so attentive to me and sweet and answered all my questions about how they fit. They even did the jump test with me! Saw this adorable yoga sweatshirt on the way out and am in the process of convincing my husband I need it, but I DID get some amazing perfume on the way out too.

This is a sponsored blog post. Influenster provided me with complimentary Victoria's Secret products to test and review as part of a contest.

Catch-up and Quinoa!

Let me tell you somethin': I have been one busy girl! I've been traveling, celebrating birthdays, holidays, been sickly here and there, and working two jobs ALL while being a wife. I've been exhausted! Here's a teensy preview of my going-ons!

So I think once again Ill say WHEEEEEEW!!!!
But of course, this has not stopped me from making dinner. :)
With no further a due...

My husband and I love having breakfast for dinner. No, I don't mean cereal. I saw this recipe on Pinterest and decided to try it, but of course I changed it around quite a bit. By the by, quinoa is pronounced like "KEEN-wa". ;)

This is what you'll need:
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 cup quinoa, thoroughly rinsed
  • 2 cups very hot water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 medium bananas, diagonally sliced
  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1/4 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup walnuts (I didn't make mine with these, but I think it would taste great!)
1. Warm 1 tablespoon of the coconut oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the quinoa and stir well to coat the grains. After 3 minutes, add the hot water and salt. Raise the heat to high and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer, covered, for about 10 minutes.
WHILE YOU'RE DOING STEP ONE...
2. Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil in an oven safe nonstick pan. A cast-iron skillet would be a great option as well. Add the bananas and cook over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes, turning to brown on both sides. It may be necessary to do this in batches if this for a bigger dish. For Garret and I, I only needed two bananas.
3.After the quinoa has cooked for 10 minutes, add coconut, sautéed bananas, 1 tablespoon of the sugar, and 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon. Stir well and remove the pan from the heat. Pour the quinoa mixture into the oven-safe skillet and spread evenly.
4. Combine the walnuts and remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 2 tablespoons sugar in a small bowl and stir to blend. Scatter the mixture over the quinoa and spread evenly to cover. Arrange any remaining cooked bananas atop the nut mixture, as well as the sliced strawberries  Bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes, until the top is golden brown and fragrant.
I added extra cinnamon on the top of ours so that our strawberries would be nice and cinnamon-y. Wish I would've had the walnuts to include. Oh well. Next time! This dish is also good with a little Maple syrup. I put a few healthy pancakes on my husbands plate to but the quinoa on. Of course this dish has my husbands approval!
P.S.: Healthy pancakes: 2 eggs, 1 banana, 1/2c oats, 1/4 c flour (gluten free for me!), 1/4c apple sauce, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Mix oats (electric mixer or blender) until ground, then add other ingredients. Cook on buttered pan.

I put some grapes on my plate too. :) Wish I had a better picture, but my computer messed up and I literally had to call apple and reset it last night. Everything I had is gone and luckily I had already uploaded this crumby picture to the blog or else there'd be nothing!

Happy breakfast-ing!
